Bulungula College was opened in October last year and since then has flourished under the professional care of Dave & Rejane from the Bulungula Incubator program. The High School facility was the biggest donation made by WREC (Wild Ride Education Company), the Imana Wild Ride and several private and corporate donors. However, only two of the three phases were able to be completed last year. The aim this year is to complete the third phase.
Herewith news from on the ground… “The Bulungula College is going very well so far, we have had ongoing weekend and holiday classes and have added afternoon classes too. The focus has been on Mathematics and English and we have also had Natural Science and Xhosa classes during the holidays. This is to strengthen the ability of the learners to obtain a good pass at the end of their Grade 9 year to enter into Grade 10 at the College in 2019. We have also been able to add extras like a nutrition programme through which the learners receive two hot meals (breakfast and lunch) when they attend Saturday and holiday classes and we are receiving ongoing donations of sanitary towels for female learners from a long-term funder. I have attached pics of the buildings that have received a splash of colour with some lovely murals and some pics of the learners in class.”
